WTBTS vs. Islam
by kairos inthe articles and meeting parts have been missing something all along, as far as i can see.. jws are taught to demonize all 'worldly' ( not jws) organizations, individuals and religions as having no value only to be destroyed by god at 'harm-you-gettin'-( armageddon ).. why do they not mention islam?no scathing denouncements?.
the only publication i really remember, was the "mankind's search for god" book that touched on the beliefs and practices of muslims.. why do you think this is the case?.

If there's anyone who's still in, do the Witnesses mention terrorism as part of the sign of the times along with earthquakes? -

I'll jump in here. Socialism doesn't work because 95 percent of the working population are lazy dogf%#kers.
That hasn't been my experience in the work place. At Home Depot, where I worked, there were lazy montherchuckers who got away with their laziness because my supervisors, thanks to corporate understaffing, were too busy to keep an eye on us.
They would have stayed there forever but I managed to convince them, three different supervisors, to take some time out to watch how the lazy bums were acting and boot them out. That's how I got rid of three workers who would do nothing but clock in and stay in the break room while I was being torn apart by customers who couldn't find someone to help them.
Capitalism did nothing to throw those workers out. It was I.
That is why the Soviet Union couldn't feed themselves. The farmers had no incentive to produce. Capitalism isn't perfect but it does give an incentive. Produce or go hungry and live on the street.
The example I brought up about Publix shows how and why their employees have an incentive to better the company. It's because they literally own the business. They're only one step away from Syndicalism (a form of Socialism) and everyone is happy, especially the customers.
1,000 stores! They've been doing something right for 80 some years.
Everyone here who speaks against Socialism has the cliché version of "State Socialism" in mind with their micromanaging of the economy. That form of Socialism is not what I'm talking about. And it needs to be emphasized that Western European Socialism does not compare with Soviet Socialism. They are feeding themselves without any problems.

I got myself into the religion at 14 - my parents and relatives never were in the religion - and I was the nerdy type. I stayed in there throughout my teens and got df'd for apostasy - the honorable way out - when I was 20. Goody two shoes and virgin all the way throughout my stay. -

VI: No true Scotsman?
That does apply to conservative Christians.
From my point of view I see them as somebody who keeps saying that he likes the rainbow when in fact he only likes one color and hates the others.

...Christian based web sites...
Just a gentle correction. There is no such thing as "Christian" any more than there's such a thing as "American". There are different types of Christians and it is an injustice to lump liberal Christians with conservative Christians. Perry is a Fundamentalist/Conservative Christian whom have large differences with Liberal Christians.
Conservative Christians despise liberal Christians and refer to them as "not the right kind of Christian". They consider themselves to be the only kind of true Christian (Sound familiar?). Calling conservatives "Christians" without the modifier plays into their self-righteous game.

For the Publix model to work, they must make a profit. It's still capitalism.
It isn't all black and white. There are shades of gray and even different colors.

Kingdom Hall Attenders: Consider Stopping the Use of Loaded Language
by OnTheWayOut init's been a long time since i attended, but i understand that many of you still go to the kingdom hall for your various reasons.. a huge thing that helped me in my mentally breaking from their beliefs was to stop using their terms that put you, virtually automatically, into their thought mode.. using terms like "the truth," jw's feel special about themselves and this helps them separate themselves from "the world.
" by incorporating loaded language, jw's learn not to think, but merely to memorize words and phrases instead of analyzing a situation.. the reasons someone misses meetings is because they are "spiritually weak.
" they might be involved in "worldly thinking.".

Prologos: Instead of "God" say " the creator", or "Our father"
I think "our father" would be more appropriate. "the creator" sounds a bit distant.
